Creating content is time-consuming. So, when you write one, you publish it, you're like, "Oh I put all this time and energy into creating this masterpiece." But then, when you find out that no one's reading it, what happens? You get demotivated. So, today, we are going to show you how to consistently write viral content.

Hi there, and welcome back to Serendipity Marketing. We're a digital marketing agency with a mission to help small businesses grow by applying psychology to their marketing strategies.

Before we get started, please go ahead and follow us on LinkedIn, Facebook, or Instagram.

When you create content, you want it to go viral. You want people to be sharing it, linking to it, clicking on it, and you want it to rank on Google. So, how do you consistently create viral content?

Well, it's really simple. And it’s now time to break it down for you.

Step 1

The first thing you need to do is go to Google.com/trends and type in keywords and phrases within your space, and they'll show you what's popular.

On Google Trends, their homepage, you'll also see what's going viral right then and there.

If you write content related to those pieces or those topics, you'll notice that your content will get more traction than if you wrote on something that happened a year ago or even six months ago.

So, you want to catch the wave right when something is going viral. And Google Trends will show you that for free.

It’s vital that you create content based on the trends that people follow in your industry as it means that people are actively searching for that type of content.

And if you do it, and create amazing pieces of content, you’ll have more chances that Google show your content to people when they are searching on search engines.

And do you know what happens when you start ranking and getting clicks?

It means 2 things.

1. The more clicks you get, the more Google will show your content and make it viral.

2. The more users see your content, the more chances you get for them to interact with you and share it, making it even more viral.

So, make sure you create content around the main trends in your area as they have a higher searching volume and ensure your content is extremely valuable for your target audience.

Let’s think about this; you are not the only one doing this – meaning that there are a lot of other businesses and people creating content around the same topics.

So, how can you get viral with such high competition? You truly have to create users focused content and provide them with as much value as you can.

Google, like any other platform, pushes the content that’s the most helpful and valuable for users. And that’s what you want to offer them.

So, if others are creating content around the same topics, you’ll want to see what they do and create content that’s more detailed and provide more value.

How can you do this?

This takes us to the second step.

Alright, now before we move on with the next step on how to create viral content, have you ever thought about how much you should invest in marketing to generate constant business growth? Step 2

So, the next thing you need to do, especially if you're in a specific niche, is to go to Buzzsumo.com and type in keywords related to your space.

They'll show you the latest viral content that's been doing well in the last few months and the last year.

Write similar content that's more detailed. So, if someone wrote an article that breaks down 10 ways to do X, Y, and Z, you want to make sure you break down 101 ways to do X, Y, and Z.

Because, if their post did well, and your post is way more detailed, you can expect your content to go viral.

It’s as simple as this; if your content is better than the one that’s ranking the highest, what do you think that Google and any other digital platform are going to do?

They are going to push for yours. And when you get clicks and users stay for some time on your pages – meaning that they find your content truly interesting and valuable – your content will rank higher. And ultimately, it will rank higher than the top ones that are ranking at the moment.

This is the power of creating user-focused content. It is not Google, Instagram, or Facebook that makes you viral. It is people that make you viral.

The digital platforms push only content that’s the most valuable for users. That’s it. Users are the ones who can make you viral. And users are the ones that you’ll want to start focusing more on and provide the highest level of value to.

So, once you create very detailed content that's better than someone else's, using BuzzSumo, you can click on view sharers, see everyone who's shared that piece of content on Twitter, and hit them up. You can take their Twitter user IDs, go to Twitter, Google their names, and find their email address.

We know it's a bit of work, but anything worthwhile requires some work.

Then, you can message them like, "Hey, John. I noticed you shared this article by Sam from ABC. That broke down how Google Analytics screwed online marketing. And I have a similar article that's coming out, but mine talks about: "How Google Analytics has Helped Marketing." Cheers."

John will probably respond back with sure. Then, you want to email him back with, "Here you go. PS: If you shared it not only would it make my day it would make my year."

It's really that simple.

By doing this, your content will start going viral.
